DANA DIORIO, LMSW, LNHA, MA
Founder & Principal Consultant
Dana Diorio founded WELP Senior Care Consulting to support families facing complex senior care decisions. Senior care transitions are logistical and emotional, and her work covers both.
A healthcare executive with nearly 30+ years of experience overseeing the operations of nursing homes and assisted living programs in New York, New Jersey and Vermont. Dana brings a rare blend of clinical insight and operational expertise. As a Licensed Master Social Worker and Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, she helps families understand options including navigating admissions and discharge decisions, planning, coordinating next steps, and moving forward with a clear, grounded plan.
WELP is the word for the moment when life does not go according to plan.
It is the pause, the sigh, the nervous laugh, the “here we are” moment when something has changed and you are not sure what comes next.
I chose the name because my sister and I have always used “welp” in that funny, honest way, when there is nothing left to say but still something that has to be done.
In my work, families often come to me in exactly that place: overwhelmed by senior care decisions, caregiving responsibilities, grief, or life transitions.
WELP is my way of meeting people there with compassion, clarity, humor, and a practical plan forward.
